Hardware Bitlocker broken in 10586 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

It looks like the ability to enable bitlocker with hardware encryption (aka "eDrive") using a TPM has been broken in 10586. Previously, I've had no problems enabling and disabling encryption, but since upgrading to this build, when you enable bitlocker and it performs the initial reboot to check key retrieval prior to enabling encryption, it freezes immediately upon booting Windows. The only way to recover is to disable the TPM in the BIOS at which point it boots ok and reports that bitlocker could not be enabled.

    Platform:

Samsung 850 Evo on Dell E7250 running Windows 10 (64 bit) build 10586.3.

    Any suggestions?

    Daern

  • That is a known bug in 1511, the web is full of complaints, but since edrive users are just a small percentage of the small percentage that uses win10, no storm arose to wake microsoft, yet - they are sound asleep.
