Rerverted to Win 8.1 from Win 10 but still being asked to upgrade to Win 10 in update section RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been running Windows 8.1 for a couple of years. After doing a recent recovery to factory defaults I found that an upgrade to Windows 10 was in my update window, without any option to defer on the upgrade and continue with regular 8.1 updates. So I went ahead and upgraded to 10, checked it out for a bit and decided I was more comfortable with 8.1. I then reverted back to 8.1 from the recovery settings. After reverting the only option offered was (yet again) to upgrade to Win 10.

It is a bit like being caught in a loop. My question is... how do I disable the Win 10 upgrade in order to install the updates for Win 8.1 as usual?
