How do I uninstall server applications in SBS 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know the warnings about uninstalling specific applications and the recommendations that I should keep them because the resources they use are minimal but I am REALLY curious...

How the heck do I remove some of the installed applications such as Monitoring and Reporting or Update Service or Redirect Folders (just to name a few)?

Answers

  • The only thing you could uninstall is Windows Software Update Services (WSUS)
Redirect Folders is not an application...it's a group policy
Monitoring and Reporting can be turned off in the SBS Console

  • Thank you for your reply, I achieved the results I wanted to do with Folder Redirection. I do not see the option to turn off Monitoring and Reporting. Can you please tell me where I can find that?

  • you disable sending the daily/weekly reports via the console
You could also disable SQL Server(SBSMONITORING) and SQL Server Agent (SBSMONITORING) in services

Again, none of these things are recommended
