  • This sounds like an easy question to answer, but you'll find out it is one of the most difficult.  There are so many variables.  Do check out the planning guide.  Just remember....i/o i/o i/o..!!!!
General info....I have 7500+ users all over the US.  We run a 3 node (A/A/P) SAN attached cluster for all the mailboxes.  2 front-ends, 2 bridgeheads both NLB.

  • How do your users connect?  RPC over HTTPS?  How many remote locations connect to your cluster?  How are those remote locations connected?  T1 or better?

    Thanks,

  • Its a gov. site.  The want to migrate themselves out of a forest into one of their own, using only their network hardware, not the shared hardware they have now.  they wanted to mirror the setup from the parent site, and we couldnt get any answers.  We finally got a response from the admins on the original forest.  80% of the users are in buildings connected by fiber, the rest use either microwave or t1.  They also have blackberry servers, im not that famillier with blackberry, but i know it uses Exchange, how much of a load does it put on Exchange servers? minimal amount of blackberry users, like 150.
