SCCM Computer Objects Reappearing with old object name even after being renamed in AD. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have you guys come across any instances where renamed AD objects keep reappearing in SCCM with old object name?

Example: I rename Computer1 to LT-Computer1, it appears in SCCM as LT-Computer1. The next day I come in and LT-Computer1 AND Computer1 are in SCCM. I delete Computer1 after confirming both objects share the same MAC address and the next day Computer1 is back again (but not in AD).

Any ideas how to stop this from happening or why its happening?

    Thank you,

  • Has a heart beat run from the machine so that SCCM will update the record?  A new DDR will be created and then the machine will be updated.  This might take a while if you have heart beat set to a long period.

    Use the below query for
    select * from v_r_system where name0 in ('Computer1','LT-Computer1')
