Create virtual cd-rom without install any third party application in Vista RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello

I remember using windows NT 4 and create a mapping to a folder and convert that mapping to a virtual cd-rom drive.
If i remember right, i was not using a third party application to create that drive.

I know there is many application that we can use to create virtual drives but doesn't work all the time.
I know Microsoft Virtual cd-rom control pannel but it doesn't keep the drive on reboot and you need admin rights to use it. No realy good idea for regular user that you don't want with admin previlage.

So the thing i want to deliver to custumer is, create a virtual cd-rom drive as we create virtual drive with this command subst x: “C:\windows” but this command create a drive as an hard drive. So could we get a command that create a cd-rom without a third party apps.

    Best regards,
