Profile problem when logging on via wireless RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have recently updated our domain from 2003 to 2008.  Staff User profiles were xcopied to their new location, student profiles were deleted. We have several Vlans data, clients and wireless. We have Radius configured to authenticate wireless users set to allow Domain computers and Domain users. Machines are running XP Pro sp3.

Our problem is that some staff users are experiencing logon problems over wireless when the laptop is turned on, but are fine if they plug in to the network; the wireless is also ok until the machine is turned off after login on via cable.

We set up a continues ping to a laptop and turned it on and it responded as normal. When you log on with one of the affected users the ping stops responding and you are given a Temp profile with no wireless access.

With a Netlogon error No Domain Controller is available for domain due to the following. There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

When you log off the ping responds again.  If you delete the users profile and then log on everything is normal, the user has wireless access. The profile is saved successfully at log off. On turning the laptop off and on again and the user logs on with a profile the problem reoccurs. Not all users are affected, no students are affected and it is not machine specific.

We have checked the shared secret on all wireless switches, cards and the management software and on the radius server.

We have deleted the user accounts and remade them and change the profile location all to no avail.
