  • Question

  • HI all,

I have an application running on win 2003 server.

The server got hanged / cound't RDP, only Ping possible

Server = Virtual Server running on Hyperv- win 2012 R2

    already rebooted - server fine

    Checked event logs

Error 2019 appearing during the freeze phase. Googled it and found that it's related to memory leak.

Performance Monitor Logs reveal 100% utilization for the below counters

    Pool Nonpaged Bytes

    Pool Paged Bytes

Resolution mentioned in the Article - says check your TCP/IP Socket program

I'm a bit confused - what needs to be done.

Need some expert advise from u guys out there.

  • Hi,  what do you have running on your server?  The article you linked to suggests several possible configurations that might cause the problem, do any of them apply?  Is SQL or SMS installed on the server?

    • Systems Management Server needs to communicate with an SQL server.
    • A SQL default client is configured for sockets - not Named Pipes.
    • TCP/IP is installed on the server, but SQL Server is not set up to use it. SQL Server is designed to use Named Pipes only.
    • Systems Management Server uses the default SQL client configuration for sockets.
    • Systems Management Server attempts to access SQL using sockets repeatedly.
