PWA Access issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • This is regarding the 2013 edition. When a user tries to access mydomain/pwa they are presented with this:

Sorry, you don't have access to this page
Awaiting approval. We'll let you know about any updates.
(sorry for the crude art, it won't let me post an image)

so the user types a message to request access, and then I go into the administrator account and look at pending approvals. I grant approval to the request and add them to a full read/write group.

However, when the user tries to log on following this, they get the same access denied page. What is going on?

  • Lee and Tom,

Which permissions mode are you using?

    1) If you are using Project Server Permissions mode, my guess is that it is not enough for you to just "Approve" the access request. You will have to actually grant the user access by creating them as an user, and adding them to a specific security group.

    2) If you are using the SharePoint permissions mode, approving the access adds them to a Team Member group for PWA. However, I have seen that this takes some time to sync up, possibly a timer job in the background.

  • Hi Prasanna

How can I choose Projet Server Permissions mode or SharePoint permissions mode?

  • Hi George_Huang,

Run the  below command using "SharePoint shell" to know your current permission mode.

    C:\PS>Get-SPProjectPermissionMode -Url http://AppServer/pwa

    1. This below syntax for changing Server permission mode into Project Server permission mode.

    C:\PS>Set-SPPRojectPermissionMode -Url http://AppServer/pwa -AdministratorAccount contoso\John.Woods -Mode ProjectServer

    2. This below syntax for changing Server permission mode into SharePoint permission mode.

    C:\PS>Set-SPPRojectPermissionMode -Url http://AppServer/pwa -AdministratorAccount contoso\John.Woods -Mode SharePoint
