s4b client desktop sharing RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have 2 locations.

What we are seeing is s4b client desktop sharing / prestation and file transfers are not working between the machines in these 2 locations

    I get error

We Couldn't connect to the presentation because of network issue. Please try again later

it looks like firewall/Symantec is blocking this

Can i see some more information in s4B logs to provide more details to firewall/IPS/Symantec guys so that we can exclude s4B and make sharing works.

  • Hi ,

You could refer to following link about the Port and protocol requirements for servers and clients

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/plan-your-deployment/network-requirements/ports-and-protocols

At the same time, you can open the SFB log to see the specific details .If you do not know how to find the LOG, you could  refer to the following link.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skype-sdk/websdk/docs/troubleshooting/gatheringlogs/logs-desktopclient

  • In our case Symantec firewall was blocking this strangely only between 2 different subnets

Had to put lync.exe as exception and move it higher in order for the firewall rule

Thank you for all the help
