DPM 2010 - Volume size planning RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am configuring and planning a file server.  I am trying to determine the best volume size that DPM will be able to reliably backup.  I'm concerned that as the volume size grows, DPM may have trouble backing up these volumes.  If I plan for one large volume that continues to grow overtime, it would start at 8TB and could grow to be 20+ TB over the next 5 years.  The other option is to split the data into 2 TB chucks and grow the volumes up to 6TB over the next 5 years.

    1. What would you recommend?

    2. Is there any limitation to the size of a single volume DPM can backup?

    3. Is there any recommendations that you may have?

    Thanks
