Windows Logs / NAP Events Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

While testing NAP in the lab, we ran into an issue with NAP event in Windows Logs.

The NAP process seems to be working fine but the NAP event in NPS is lacking some information, especially NAS-Port-Type and Quarantine result (result itself and SHVs results) information. We know for a fact that the NAS-Port-Type attribute is contained in the RADIUS packet, and again NAP seems to work ok.

    NAS:
     NAS IPv4 Address:  10.34.15.202
     NAS IPv6 Address:  -
     NAS Identifier:   -
     NAS Port-Type:   -
     NAS Port:   11002

    Quarantine Information:
     Result:    -
     Extended-Result:   -
     Session Identifier:   {FAAFB897-D01B-4B37-8CD2-44FF0EE5A0DF} - 2009-01-19 11:46:32.514Z
     Help URL:   -
     System Health Validator Result(s):
    Windows Security Health Validator

Note that Windows Server 2008 is fully patched (through Windows Update) and that the Windows XP SP3 client is also fully patched (through Windows Update).

Any idea on why this is happening?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Changing the system locale to "English (US)" fixed the issue.

Is it FAD or do you expect this to be corrected in a future version? It would probably be worth documenting it.

    Thanks for the support.

  • Hi,

The system locale is set to "French (France)". Note that the OS UI is in English. Other regional settings (like format, keyboard, etc) are French.

    Thanks.

  • Hello Jeff
We are working on this. Can you please pass us the configuration file or details so that we can do an exact repro of this. Also  can you let us know if the base OS is english or french.
Apart from that you can let us know the steps that you did when this issue reproed.

    thanks
    Neel
