MDT Update 2 Unable to initiate reboot RRS feed

  • Question

  • Upgrade MDT 2013 Update 1 -> Update 2

    Updated Deployments

    I have a task sequence with just Windows Update. I have configured FinishAction=Restart in custom.ini. After Windows Update is completed, system does not restart. The line "lti initiating task sequence-requested reboot" is present in the logs, but nothing happens.
    There was no such issue on MDT 2013 Update 1

    Any ideas?

  • Hi

    It seems like your TS is not finishing - the FinishAction first runs after the Task Squence is completed.

    Can you post the bbd.log??

    Kind regards

  • I think the issue is you aren't running the TS in .\Administrator.

    Logs are very important. https://keithga.wordpress.com/2014/10/24/video-mdt-2013-log-files-basics-bdd-log-and-smsts-log/ Mention any customizations you have made.

  • The account I am running the sequence is an Administrator, but not the built in one.

    I have reverted to MDT Update 1 and there was no issues with the same task sequence. Is this a new requirement, or is there any known methods to bypass this issue?

  • Typically if there has been a reboot in the past then MDT would log in as .\Administrator.  It has been that way as long as I have known.
