  • Question

  • Error: Excel encountered errors during save. However, Excel was able to minimally save your file to c:\users\*****\appdata\roaming\microsoft\excel\***.xlsb.

Basically, these are multiple macro enabled spreadsheets from one client. It happens with no other clients who also use macros. They are all saved to our network, which has plenty of space. Any of our users that access these files have the same issue.

  • Hi

Take following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the Macro and File Blocker settings in the Trust Center.(File>Option>Trust center>Trust center settings)

Then we suggest to perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your Office program.

It is recommended that you disable Antivirus application while checking the issue.

  • I encountered the same error and found the problem was with non printable characters in a cell. I was able to correct this by using the clean formula and remove the non printable text.

  • I had this problem too in a non-macro enabled workbook. None of these solutions helped me.

Saving my workbook involved moving all the sheets to a new workbook and then saving that. Saved fine, no more corruption issues.

I'm thinking I may have caused this problem when the drive the workbook is stored on became temporarily disconnected.

  • Hi at first I removed the embedded photo which worked. Then I just compressed the photo under the tab "Picture Tools->Format" and it let me save.
