Only Word documents in BI Library (2010) ? RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I cretaed a custom folder "My Folder" in Business Intelligence > Librairies > Documents. I set it as a Trusted File location.

    If I drill down in this folder, click the Document tab, Click the New Document button, I don't have any other choice than WORD document.

    In some Microsoft white papers there some printscreens with a lot of other choices: Excel, Report Builder Report, Report Data Source, Report Builder Model...

    How can i add some other kind of documents?

  • Hi there,

    Go to the Library tab in Business Intelligence > Librairies  you have created, and click on the Library Settings menu to configure the content types for the Report Builder Report, Report Data Source, Report Builder Model..

    In the General settings section, click on the Advanced settings link
    Change the Allow management of content types? to “Yes” and click the OK button to apply the change
    In the Content Types section, click on the Add from existing site content types link
    -
    Select the Report Builder Model, Report Builder Report, and Report data source content types from the Available Site Content Types list to be added, then click the OK button to apply the change.
    -
    If you want to change the default or the visible order of the content types, you could click on the Change new button order and default content type link and modify accordingly.
    - Return back to the  Document library, and click on the New Document from the Documents tab. Now you should be able to see the Report Builder menus that have been created.

    Now I have all the Content types i need... except the Excel document. How can I add this Excel type?
