  • Hi,

To resolve this kind of problem, please take the steps in the following KB:

You are unable to view Roles and Features and receive error code 0x800706BE in Server Manager

As the KB describes, after extracting the package file, you need to Rename the gathered update.mum and update.cab files, then place them into the directory specified in checksur.log (/servicing/packages)

If the issue persists, please re-run the System Update Readiness Tool and double check the steps listed in above KB.

    Best Regards

    Dale

If you followed my instructions exactly, the extracted files will be in c:\servicing\kb2387149\files. Based on your sur.log, you need to restore the following files from the extracted package files to c:\windows\servicing\Packages:

    Package_for_KB2387149_RTM~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.mum
    Package_for_KB2387149_RTM~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1.cat

Note that you may need to take ownership of the c:\Windows\servicing\Packages directory and assign yourself permissions to create/modify files. Note the original ownership and permissions in case you want to reset them after you restore the files to the directory.

  • Thank you for the response, Ill followed the steps exactly, was able to install 1 update after, rebooted then back to hangs checking for new updates. Server roles still responds with error collecting data. And the update installed is in history but does not show under installed updates.
