API Can't Retrieve Owner from a Server Upgraded from 2010 to 2019 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We upgraded a Project Server from version 2010 to 2019 (by the book, i.e. via 2013 and 2016). We have some add-ons that we built on the server and we are working on upgrading them as well. One of the add-ons (SharePoint based) is trying to get the project owner by using http://server_name/site_name/_api/Projects(PROJECT_GUID)/OwnerThe request fails with "the user does not exist or unique"

When trying this on a fresh 2019 PWA (not migrated from 2010), the request succeeds.

    Any Ideas?

  • Hello,

Is the this the same for all projects that were migrated? If you create a new test project on that migrated instance, does that work? If you republish an existing migrated project, does that work?

  • Hello @PWMather,

It's the same for all projects. It's the same for a newly created project. The client didn't try to republish. In addition, we have found out that it's the same in the 2013 environment that was used during the migration. That brings me to think that we might have needed to install the latest 2010 CU prior to starting the upgrade.
