Exporting Only Contacts to PST Exchange 2010 Sp3


  • Hi 

    Am using below syntax to export contacts folder but its giving error.

    New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox mailbox name -IncludeFolders "Contacts" -filepath \\servernameD\share\user.pst

    getting below error.

    A positional parameter cannot be found that accepts argument 'Contacts\AbhinavGoel.pst'.
        + CategoryInfo          : InvalidArgument: (:) [New-MailboxExportRequest], ParameterBindingException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : PositionalParameterNotFound,New-MailboxExportRequest

  • New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox <alias> -IncludeFolders Contacts -FilePath \\FQDN of the server\share\alias.pst

    Please try to use the above, it worked for me :)

  • try following excluding dumpster

    New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox user1 -IncludeFolders “#Contacts#” -ExcludeDumpster -filepath \\server\share\user1.pst

    Firstly, I recommend you try the above command and check if there is still error.

    Since we have to careful while using Powershell command, any quotation or extra variable can create an error during Conversion Process. You can also directly Export Exchange Server of Contacts to PST format, to know more:
