Changing SMSTS.log file size

    Question

  • I am trying to increase the size of the smsts.log file.

Added smsts.ini file to the boot iso and added  CCMLOGMAXSIZE=5242880  to the client install.

Checking the smsts.log file i cant see "setting LogMaxSize to...."

I only see "Current LogMaxSize is saved to TS environment since it has not been saved"

After the client is installed i do see:

    setting LogMaxSize to 5242880

However the size of the log file does not change. It still creates a new file after 2.5 MB.

What i am missing to create a larger log file?

    Thank you

  • Thanks for the link.

The problem is that i do have the correct smsts.ini file, but when WinPE is up and running the

    setting LogMaxSize is not configured.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

Do you have the same setting as the article mentioned, I saw you have configured the LOGMAXSIZE to 52428800 rather than 5242880.
And after adding smsts.ini to the boot iSO, have you update the distribution points?

  • Yes i have updated DP's. The screen shot is from PE.

I wanted to make the limit 50 MB. Is there a limit?

    Thank you

  • I copy the file out to a folder at different intervals in my TS's so that I know the info for a particular step will be there.
