Forefront Identity Manager Synchronization Service behavior RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

SQL Cluster Node 1 & 2: FIMService, FIMSynchronizationService databases

    FIM Synchronization Server

    FIM Web Service 1 & 2

What would be the behavior of the Forefront Identity Manager Synchronization Service when the drives of the SQL server are not available?

What would be the order to start the servers?

    Thanks,

    Dom

  • OK - I guess that by "driver of the SQL server" you are referring to situation that SQL will go off-line or will switch between nodes.

If SQL will go off-line and will not be available:

    1. FIM Synchronization service will stop and will try to recover and restart (based on the settings) if SQL will not be available it will just stop

    2.  FIM Service will be running but will not work as it requires SQL for its operations

If SQL will fail-over from node to node it should not disrupt FIM services.

  • Hello,

Perfect it was what I got this morning after a storage issue making SQL cluster and databases unavailable.

Any document which relate to this behavior?

    Thanks,

    Dom
