Exchange MP Alerting not working on particular Monitor

  • Hi all,

I'm having some issues with Exchange MP alerting. We are using SCOM 2007 R2 and Exchnage MP

Last week we had some issues with one Exchange server where the Transport Queue length was very high and sustained for long time. In SCOM below monitor has identified the issue and i could see the state change for the same, But we didn't get any alert from relevant Rule (Correlation Engine).

    Monitor Name:

KHI: Submission Queue Length - sustained for 15 minutes - Red(>500) - Hub Transport.

Its enabled by design but alerting and auto-resolved options are disabled.

At the same time, the relavent rule is enabled, however we didnt get any alert from the same for this issue.

We understand Correlation engine will wait for 300 seconds and send the alerts, but the state change was detected for more than a day, eventhough we didnt get any alert.

  • Hi Sundar,

Yes, by default the above mentioned monitor is not set for Alerting. Hence we need to create an Override to make it enable to receive alerts.

As you said, you can see the State change to Critical but it will not Alert unless we configure it.

Note: It is not mandatory that we will receive alert for State changes. If Alerting is not enabled by default, then we need to enable it.

We don't receive an alert from above mentioned KHI RULE.
