Cannot route email from exchange 2003 to exchange 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

We have a SBS2003 server running our corporate exchange.

We just purchased and installed exchange 2007 on a new machine. The install went fine - everything is up and running.

    Internal mail works both ways.

I can only receive and send to external domains from clients using the SBS2003 server.

Any mailboxes moved to the new Exchange 2007 cannot send or receive mail from external domains. REALLY FRUSTRATING!!

We are using Frontbridge (Exchange hosted service) as a smarthost. I have a SMTP connector on the 2003 box handling this (which displays in the 2007 box).

Ideally I would like to have the 2003 exchange act has our primary contact with the net. Any mail arriving to us needs to get routed to any clients attached to it, or any newly moved clients on the 2007 version. And likewise with outgoing mail. This way I can move clients gradually over to the new Exchange 2007 Server.

    Any ideas??
