DNS and domain problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Everyone,
I am fresh graduate and recently employed with zero experience....please help me sort out the problem.

I have a domain controller with DNS active directory integrated zone configured on the same machine,
I have replicated the DC with DNS to new machine that is now ADC.
problem is  that when both DC and ADC machines are switched on at the same time then I get error of 'Domain not available' and also folder sharing is disable during the mean time.

when I shutdown DC or ADC(any one machine) everything goes fine...
can anyone help me how I will make both the DC and ADC running at the same time...

  • Hello,

on you additional DC, make it a GC and install DNS on it.

Once done, make sure that client computers / servers are poiting to them. One as primary DNS server and the other one as secondary.
