    I recently installed IE 9.0 RC, and then Windows 7 SP1. Lately my Quicktime application has quit working. If I try to open the QT app, nothing happens. The QT plug-in crashes in the browser. If I open QT item in control panel, and click the "Sound" Tab, I get an error: "Windows Shell Common Dll has stopped working".

    do you use the latest QuickTime version 7.6.9? If not, download and install the latets version:

    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

    Also the IE9 is still a test version, so not all 3rd party tool are fully compatible.

    Yes, I've installed the latest version.

    Does the install of IE 9 prevent the main QT application from opening?

    Does the install of SP1 make a difference?
