ADFS - Azure MFA server - O365 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I'm in the process of trying to setup MFA in ADFS 3.0 (Microsoft Office 365 identity Platform), using Azure MFA server, for email clients, hosted on O365.  I have am on-prem ADFS cluster communicating with an on-prem MFA server, and so far users are being prompted for MFA if they access mail though Webmail (outlook.office365.com), Outlook phone appp, or any other app that are browser based.

However one of the issues I'm seeing is with the Outlook clients on computers (Outlook 365 ProPlus).  The Outlook clients don't seem to prompt for MFA authentication, and they just login. And Skype for Business can't authenticate at all with MFA enabled.  I had thought both should be passing through ADFS, at least Outlook clients.  I'm just not sure where to look to figure out why these two apps act differently.  The biggest concern is with the Outlook clients, as we need them to prompt for MFA authentication when users are outside the network.  Any help on this would be appreciated.
