Question

We are on SCCM R2 SP1 CU2.
Our functional AD level is 2003.
Can we upgrade to 1511 without upgrading our Functional AD Level ?

Here is the official support statement:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/library/mt617258.aspx
Based on that, you need to be at 2008 R2 or higher. . .

Thank you for the fast answer.
This means we have to wait for our AD Administrator to do the upgrade of AD

Yes. Domain level has to be raised first.

Do note that I don't think you'll have any actual issues -- in fact, I highly doubt that you will/would. The point though is that Windows Server 2003 is beyond its end of life and is thus *not* a supported product anymore and its time to join the modern Microsoft world.

That's what I suspected and now it's confirmed.
Thank you
