Read Receipts

    Question

  • Is it possible to request a read receipt when replying or forwarding an email in Outlook 2016?

The options tab for read receipts is there for new emails but does not show if replying or forwarding.

  • Hi,

The "Request a Read Receipt" option (under "Options" tab) is also available for replying and forwarding in Outlook 2016.

After clicking the Reply or Forward button, you will need to "Pop Out" the message editing Window, to see the "Options" tab on the Ribbon.

  • Great answer Ethan.

Another way to track emails is using Outlook email tracking. Similar to read receipts but the recipient doesn't know he's being tracked. There are a few solutions out there like ContactMonkey and Toutware.

    Happy tracking!
