  • Hi,

Based on your description, I know that you are getting an issue that Outlook won't send/receive unless you close/reopen, which is more related to an client side issue. To better resolve the issue, I will move it to Outlook IT Pro Discussions forum.

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Regards,

    Manu Meng

  • Hi joew1216,

Before we go on, could you please clarify the following questions then we can do further analysis on this?

    1. What's the version of you Outlook?
    2. What's the type of your mail account, Exchange, POP or IMAP?

If you are using Exchange account in cached mode, please try switching to Online mode and check the result. If it works in online mode, please enable Cached mode again and recreate the OST file by directly deleting it to see if the issue can be fixed.

If the above doesn't work, please try recreating the Send/Receive group:

    1. Go to File > Options > Advanced, in the Send and Receive section, click Send/Receive.
    2. Under Group Name, click the group, and then click Copy.
    3. Under Send/Receive Group Name, type the new group name, and then click OK.
    4. Under Group Name, click the old group name.
    5. Under both When Outlook is Online and When Outlook is Offline, click to clear the check box for Include this group in Send/Receive (F9).
    6. Click Close. Quit Outlook, and then restart Outlook.

Besides, it is also suggested to try recreating a new Outlook profile in case the methods above cannot fix the issue.

Hope the above information can be helpful.

    Regards,

    Yuki Sun
