App-v 4.6: How to virtualize AmyUni Document Converter? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I try to virtualize an application that installs and uses AmyUni Document Converter (it's another PDF printer).

Tried to empty the exclusion list; during the sequence process installed drivers (sequencer warned me that a printer driver was detected), and, after the sequence complete, added drivers into the package manually. As a result, created app-v package doesn't see PDF printer - every time at program start, it asks to reinstall printer driver; no printer in Control Panel.

I know, that some pdf printers is possible to virtualize (http://www.applepie.se/sage-fund-accounting-and-drivers). So, maybe someone can share success story on how to virtualize "AmyUni Document Converter", before install drivers locally?

    Thanks,

    Jurij

  • Hi Jurij111,

I have moved this thread to the App-V forum where you should be able to get some assistance.

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

You can not virtualize Printer drivers, or printers.

The above article explains that you can not virtualize printer drivers and then explains how you can extract those drivers and install them natively.

Drivers have never been in-scope for sequencing.
