Adding an nonAD user to Project Server 2013 onsite RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to give access to project schedules and other project info to users outside of my AD Domain.

Is there a way to do this on a onsite Project Server 2013 install?

Would be nice to allow self creation with approval by an administrator.

  • You can do this, but not with an out of box solution. It requires setting up an additional claims authentication loggin in and then specifying the account in the resource profile.  The claims authentication is done in SharePoint Central.

If you look at the resource  profile records from SQL server, you will see characters that point to the AD claims model.  When you set up the other claims engine, you will need this code to prefix the account with code.

    Cheers!

  • Hi,

One of the things you can do is that you can enable the forms based authentication

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/ptsblog/archive/2013/09/20/configuring-sharepoint-2013-forms-based-authentication-with-sqlmembershipprovider.aspx

Your users will then presented with the option if they will be logging in using Forms or Windows authentication

External Users can use forms and internal users windows authentication
