png pics not opening in Internet Explorer 7 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi Everyone

I am using windows XP SP3 with normal User ID(no Admin rights) on it.When i login via admin account i can view png files in internet explorer 7 but when i login with said normal login ID,i see red cross in place of png files

when i googled i found following tips

1-)internet options advanced tab(show pictures) check it

2-)Delete browsing history and few other internet explorer settings modifcations

    3-)PNGFILT.DLL re-register with Run Prompt(regsrv)

4-)Install latest version of K-Lite Codec Pack

5-)registry permission issue on following path

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Mime\Database\Content Type   so they said to merge following .REG file into registry

  • I am also facing exactly same problem.

I am using Windows XP with SP3 and IE7.

I can not open PNG files in limited accounts but can open in Administrator account.

Even if I create new user account and log in to new user account, the problem persists.

Surprisingly everything was fine a week before. Suddenly all limited user accounts have started facing this problem. IE just displays a red crossed box while opening PNG files in limited user accounts.
