PWA 2010 Project Sites web part - limitations? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In PWA 2007, the Project Workspaces web part had a way to select views of either All Workspaces or Owned Workspaces through a drop-down choice in the upper-right corner of the web part:

Is anything similar available in the PWA 2010 Project Sites web part?  I do not see a way to select a view in 2010 Project Sites.  If there is some way to select the view, is there a way to add custom views to the list of choices?

Here is a related question: Is the list of projects shown to you in the PWA 2010 Project Sites web part supposed to be trimmed to the project sites you actually have permissions to view?  A test project manager user I've created sees all projects listed, but when they click the link to some of those projects they get an "Error: Access Denied" message.

    Thanks,

    • Yes, what you are seeing regarding Project Sites is by design. There is no way to select a "View" for project Sites in 2010. However, it is supposed to auto-trim the sites, that you have permissions to. The other option is to develop a SSRS Report, with multiple views.
    • As for Projects, have you changed any of the category permissions. Looks like they have the "View project Summary in Project Center" permission which allows them to see the list of project, but are missing the "Open project", and the View Project Schedule in Project Web App", permissions.
