Volmgrx.sys Windows Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a PC with Vista and the OS is not loading at all. I tried to start in Safe Mode/Safe Mode with Networking/Safe Mode with Command Prompt/Last Known Good Configuration but nothing worked. In Safe Mode it stopped to volmgrx.sys file.

I tried to repair for 3 or 4 times the OS with the Repair option from the Vista's CD/DVD, but failed. I copied from the CD/DVD the volmgrx.sys to my hard drive, but it doesn't work at all.

Is there a way to fix this problem without reinstalling the OS ?

Do you think that it could be a hard drive problem ?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

The symptom indicates a faulty hard drive. I would suggest running diagnostics on it or replace it and reinstall Windows.

  • I don't know what your operating system is, simply replacing this file with new-clean-original file will fix the problems with volmgrx.sys file.

Open the link below and you will find the volmgrx.sys file for different operating systems.

    http://www.dllsuite.com/Windllresult.aspx?keyword=volmgrx.sys

Choose the one you need and download the file to its default path, and that will help fix the issue.
