Formula calculations in analytic charts PPS2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created few analytic charts, by default all charts are showing SUM of values. Is there any way to get AVG values?

I tried to create a VIEW with AVG values in database & created CUBE from this VIEW instead of TABLES, but couldn't help!.

    Thanks

Answers

  • Yes, move this calculation into your Cube's Calculated Members tab. Deploy and this measure should be available to use on reports.

  • To get AVG you would need to create a Calculated Measures like:

    SUM ( YourMeasures ) / COUNT ( YourMeasure )

Where SUM is already the measure that you are using. To get COUNT just add a new measure from DSV with the aggregation type COUNT.

  • Hi,

My Measure table already has both fields(Sum,Count). I just want to get AVG & display the same in Chart.

I tried SUM ( Measures ) / COUNT ( Measure ) in MDX query editor, it works fine but, chart looses all features like Drilldown, Drillups, Decomposition tree etc.

is there any other ways to do calculations other than MDX?

  • Thank you so much Mr.Khan, is there any way to send these reports via email?

  • That would be a manual process like export the report and attach as file attachment to email.

If you are looking for an automated way, you should start looking into SSRS's Subscriptions, Linked reports etc.
