  • Hello,

    This forum is dedicated for sharing of successful recipes on sequencing applications. I assuming an admin will move your thread at some point.

    Which application prompts you for credentials - windows, or app-v, or citrix client, or the application you are providing?

    i thought, this would be the wrong part. im sorry.

    Its the Microsoft Apllication Virtualization Desktop Client which prompts me for.

    If i cancel it, it gives me this error

  • Hello,

    Verify where it breaks;

    1. Install a clean-server and add only the app-v client and your virtual application. Does it work?

    2. Add antivirus.. does it work?

    3. Add any other third-party software.... does it work?

    4. Add citrix components.... does it work?

  • Hello Znack

    Well, on the server itselfe it workes just fine. i cann run the App-V Applications without error or Prompt.

    Only through a Citrix Session i get a prompt.

  • Hello,

    You should determine the difference between running a citrix-session and "on the server itself".

    Are there any differences in the user accounts used? Any difference in profiles? Any difference in security policies? Any other differences?

  • Hello znack

    when i start the application local on the XenApp server through the App-V Client, it works without the promt.

    but when i start it witht he same user,same profile and the same policies through the citrix client (citrix session) it will prompt me.

    so my thoughts were, that the App-V package cant get the credentials right through a citrix session.

    so the only difference is the Session.

  • Are you seeing different behaviour between run the application in a desktop and then as a published appliciation (i.e. seamless window?)

  • Did you launch the application during the sequencing? I know you said you are testing with the same user. Did you try to sequence this on a server rather than a Desktop? If it's being staged on a server there might be something it doesn't like which you sequenced on a Windows 7 or XP VM....What was your sequencing image like?

  • Hello Rorymon

    i havnt done the sequencing.

    but i know it was done on a Windows Xp 32 Bit VM.

    i only adjusted the Operating system to 2008 R2 64-bit in the OSD. File.

  • Does the issue occur with just one application or all? Test with an application that was sequenced on Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • Hello,

    There could be several possible causes for the sequencer not installing on 2008 R2 - by reading the error message you can usually determine what goes.

    Possible things that it could warn about are;

    1. You can not upgrade, but must uninstall, reboot and install the sequencer

    2. You can not install a 32-bit version of the sequencer on a 64-bit system

  • Hello Znack

    I think i found the problem for the installation problem.

    the cause could be that i installed the Client before.

    --> http://blog.stealthpuppy.com/virtualisation/app-v-sequencer-fails-to-install/

    Ill do it on a new Clean Server installation.

    Report in after im done.

  • Hello.

    i installed a new Win 2008 R2 Server.

    Installed the Sequencer.

    made a Firefox 8 package on it.

    published it with XenApp 6.5

    still the same prompt for the authentification.

  • Hello,

    See my last two questions regarding troubleshooting the issue;

    Any difference in security policies? Any other differences?

    Since you have determined that using RDP (I assume) to start the application on the server gives you no issues, whereas starting it with ICA-protocol gives you issues - there must be a difference somewhere.
