Windows 7 Home Premium and COM+ BSTR issue... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a 3-tier application. Client app connects to COM+ middle
layer, this one connects then to the database.

There are lots of methods, many of them accept BSTR parameter.

The problem is with the client running on Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit)
    system.
The client sends through BSTR type an array of bytes. The COM+ retrieves
    it and processes the request.
The value of BSTR's variable is not the same
on the other side (when COM+ reads it - few characters is wrong).

Such situation gives me the impression that it could be the problem with
regional settings, however it seems to be set properly to polish language.

I have tried many options, unfortunately with no luck.

There are lots of WIndows 7 clients running app(Ultimate, corporate
version). We have the problem with this Home edition and don't know we
    we could do.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Since BSTR and COM+ are all of MSDN windows development. I suggest asking MSDN Windows General for further help:
