Can you use Excel 2010 with Project Server 2013 to build reports RRS feed

  • Question

  • We still have Excel 2010 and we are implementing Project server 2013.  I am trying to create reports with OData feeds.  It appears you need Power pivot add-in installed for Excel 2010 which I do have.  I can build a report, however when I upload the report to PS and then try and run it, refresh all connections ... an error message appears "The workbook was created in an older version of Excel and PowerPivot and cannot be refreshed until the file is upgraded."

It appears that when you run this in Excel Services it is looking for a 2013 version of the file?

Looking for confirmation that this is the case please?

    Thanks

  • I'm 99% sure that to use oData you need Excel 2013 to create the report and view the data correctly.  Note that if you are using Project Server 2013, you can still use the "old" SQL Select statements.
