  • Question

  • We needed to restore the backup of a corrupted Exchange 2007 mailbox database.  This is a database that would not mount.  When we picked "latest" recovery point and Restore to current location, it failed because it was unable to dismount the database.  This seems kind of senseless since the database was already dismounted.

We suggest that it would be better if it was aware of the mounted/dismounted status and acted appropriately, or at least if we had a switch for "IgnoreMountState"

    Thanks

  • Hi, Thanks for your feedback. I will send it to the concerned team, so that they can consider fixing it in futures releases. If the database file(.edb) is corrupted and you want to override, please delete it manually from the exchagne server and mount the database. Exchange will create a new database file and mount it. Now try recovery from "latest" point in time.
