Power Query in a web session ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi.. I have a bit of a problem that I hope you maybe can enlighten a bit.

I have access to several jSON services, but unfortunatly they are all behind a login screen accessible from a webform. The login sets session cookies and allows access to the jSON services through a proxy. It is not possible to have a API key for the proxy, which would have made it a lot easier.

It is possible to let Power Query to start a websession, and let all the queries go through that session ? Or are there any other way to fix this issue.

    I hope you can help.

    Kind regards

    Jonas

  • I'm afraid there's no support for doing this from Power Query today. One of our goals is to be able to support refresh for all data sources for a workbook that's embedded in e.g. SharePoint Online, and it's impossible to do that for a source that requires human intervention to fetch data. So while this is a request that comes up fairly regularly, our design constraints make it a bit of a challenge to implement.
