MS Project Server 2010 and MS Project Professional 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We want to upgrade from MS Office 2010 to MS Office 2016. The new software contains MS Project Professional 2016.

We use the MS Project Server 2010 and try to connect to Project Server 2010 with Project Professional 2016. We get the following messages:

You are trying to connect to Project Server 2010.

Please make sure to use Project Professional 2010 to connect to Project Server 2010.

Is there any possibility to work with Project Professional 2016 and a Project Server 2010?

Many thanks for your answer and Kind regards

  • Hi,

You will find a first answer in this article avec Project 2016 saying that you can connect to PS2016 and 2013 only with Project Pro 2016.

See also this article showing the client requirements for Project Server 2010.

    Hope this helps,
