Cannot restore client from USB error "access denied" when trying to start client from USB device. SBS essetials 2011


  • Client OS to restore = Windows 8 pro

    Server OS = SBS Essentials 2011

    The USB drive seems to have the correct content

  • Hi:

    I am sure the procedure you are following is the correct one, but for some reason I cannot put the pieces together.  Can you please tell us what happened, what you did, and exactly what the error message is

    For example:  "As a test I put a new drive into a Windows 8 computer and connected my thumb drive that I made at the Essentials 2011 Server.  Then I went to the test computer booted to the flash drive.  Windows PE started as expected, but then......."

    Or something else?
