Design questions for WSUS

Question
-
Hi,
We have a Datacentre which houses 50 or so servers in a VMware environment, a head office with a couple of servers and ESXi and 3 branch offices all supplied over a 100MB MPLS link. We have around 500 computers and maybe 50 laptops. I have a couple of questions as although I have read through the documentation from Microsoft, they dont have recommendations for these things as far as I can see.
- Would WSUS work ok having just a single virtualized 2012 server supplying all updates to all computers/ servers without issue?
- Is it worth using dedicated SQL here or would using the Internal Database be sufficient for our needs?
Thanks a lot.

Yes, one WSUS is enough.

Windows Internal Database is working very well with the count of
Clients/Servers in your environment.Winfried

Hi btdmartin,
In additional to Winfried, if we use recommended hardware for WSUS server, it can support a maximum number of 30000 clients. And I have tested that if we download all updates on WSUS server, it may cost 6G memory.
Here is the detailed requirement for WSUS server:
