Project Online Physical % Complete - Editable in Task and Timesheet? RRS feed

All replies

  • Hi Stewart,

% Physical Complete is a calculated column on summary tasks if you follow proper instructions. Therefore, it cannot be added as such in the Timesheet.

I suggest you use and create a customed field at the task level, with no rollup, insert it in the Timesheet view, and use a VBA macro to input the % Physical Complete from the timesheet only to all daughters tasks.

    Cheers.

  • Stewa11 --

In addition to the excellent reply given to you by Didier, it is important that you know the following about the Physical % Complete column:

    • You cannot add this column to the Timesheet page.
    • If you add this column to the Tasks page, the column is automatically set to Read Only and this setting cannot be changed.

Because of this behavior, I think Microsoft's expectation is that the project manager manually enter a Physical % Complete value on each task in the Microsoft Project schedule, in conversation with the team members who are working on that task.  Other than the solution that Didier suggests, there is no default way to update the Physical % Complete field from either the Tasks page or the Timesheet page in PWA.  Hope this additional information helps.
