Vista x64 blank/white icons for htm & mht files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am having this weird problem on my Vista Ultimate x64. The icons for my .htm & .mht files show up as clear white / blank icons.

If I choose Firefox as default program the icons change to Firefox icons. If I then change back to IE, I just get a blank / white icon again.

Does anybody know how to fix this ?

    Kidn regards,

    Lars-Heine Andersen

  • Hi durdom,

Thanks for the answer, but I had already seen that thread and testet that. Or at least I gathered that KILL IconHandler meant delete that key and so I did - but this has not made any difference.

I have also Office 2007 installed and I think that the problem started after installing this, but I am not sure.

Is there really no one else who has experienced this problem ?

    Kind regards,

    Lars-Heine

I'm experiencing this as well. I noticed the same, after installing office 07. I've spent a moderate amount of time looking for a fix other than blowing away the machine. Fixes for previous versions of windows doesn't seem to work here. Mostly shortcuts for anything installed at the time of office 07 install or before.
