DPM 2012 R2 - Failed to mount the tape error, over and over again RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I have a customer that is having the error "DPM failed to mount the tape........This is because DPM is not synchronized with the current state of the library". Ok, They do the detailed inventory, and everything is OK. Until next week or 2 weeks same issue happens.

Why is happening that continue error?

  • Hi,

Change the time that an inventory is performed by DPM so it's performed after new tape media is changed or right before the tape backups are scheduled to run.  You can run the below DPM Power shell command to adjust the time.

    Set-MaintenanceJobStartTime -dpmservername (&hostname) libraryinventory -starttime 06:00pm
