DPM 2010 Bare Metal Recovery for End users? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

What is the best method for protecting an end user PC against a complete Disaster?  It looks like the only option I have in DPM 2010 is to treat my end user as a server and protect the system that way, does the End User Protection Groups support this or does it only have the ability to backup folders?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Brian

  • HI,

Unfortunatly, DPM does not have any option for BMR for client operating systems.  The best you could do is have the client make a BMR backup to a network share, then have DPM protect that network share.

  • Thanks, an extra step but that should work.
