Avoid overallocation with Dynamic Memory RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I use Dynamic Memory on my Hyper-V virtual servers and this works fine except at one virtual server.

The specs for this server are:

    Windows 2008 R2 SP1

    Exchange 2010 installed on it.

It’s a test environment with one empty mailbox.

    Startup RAM: 1536 MB

    Maximum RAM: 65536 MB

    Memory buffer 15%

    Memory weight 3th

    Result after boot is:

Memory usage according to the Task manager on the VM is 1,36 GB. On Hyper-V manager the memory demand is 2.631 MB. So this VM allocates double the amount of memory, it actually uses. I already delayed the start of the  service "Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology", trying to get the dynamic memory mechanism operational prior to the start of the heavy memory demand.

Can anyone tell me witch service is providing the dynamic memory usage and how to solve this problem.
