Windows 2012 R2 DHCP Multihomed logs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a Windows 2012 R2 DHCP with the following interfaces:

    - 10.32.7.5 (responding on subnet 10.32.7.0/24)

    - 10.32.107.51 (responding on subnet 10.32.107.5/24)

These subnets are fully routed on the MPLS backbone.

We want to change the ip-helper-address (DHCP relay) on the Cisco routers from the old DHCP IP (10.32.7.5) to the new one (10.32.107.51).

I am looking for a way to log which interface (10.32.7.5 or 10.32.107.51) is responding to the DhcpDiscover packet.

Like this I can be sure that we don't forget any router change on the backbone.

No logs reporting in the event viewer nor dhcplogs. Should I use a packet tracer or is there a GUI workaround in Windows 2012 R2?

    Best regards
