ProClarity and Proxy Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • We currently use ProClarity Pro on the desktop and connect directly to Analysis Services 2005 via https://<servername>/xmla/msmdpump.dll.  We do not use a PAS server.

We are using a proxy server to connect to the internet and because of this it prevents us from using ProClarity.  Once the proxy server is not used or reference then ProClarity is able to connect to the cubes with problems.  The cubes are being housed at external site.

Is there a way of connecting to the cubes while still using the proxy server?  We have specified the specific URL and server name in the proxy exclusion list but ProClarity is not recognizing the list or entry.

I have also did some additional research in this issue and found the following information.

It appears it has been fixed in CU 5

Here is the support document for MS SQL 2005 CU5.

Here is the link for the fix of the Proxy server

We are currently running MS SQL 2005 SP 2 with cumulative update 8

I also found additional information that leads me to believe it is ProClarity and Windows Integrated Authentication.  See email links

Is there anyway of using ProClarity Pro while using a Proxy Server?

  • How is the proxy server configured in IE on the client?  Does it use a PAC file?
