Authentication issue between domain and subdomains RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have one domain: domain.es, and several subdomains: senegal.domain.es, ghana.domain.es, etc

Sometimes when we login in subdomains servers or computers with accounts from the main domain We receive the folow authentication error: there are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

The subdomains are in Africa countries and sometimes we have timeout pings and network issues, so we think could be a network problem.

We think when a root domain user try to login to a computer in a subdomain the computer send the petition to a DC in the main domain in Spain and, if there is network latency, the computer shows there no logon servers. What do you think?

Anybody knows any way to  increase the latency to this request or other way to solve our problem?

    Thanks!

    BR,

    Juan

  • Hi,

looking at the error yes it could be the network issue. You can check the what cost is set between sites. Also check is there any latency on network. You can do network trace and enable the net logon debug logs. also check the site link & all required subnets & sites are selected in AD.
